What Is ySense?
Formerly known as ClixSense, ySense is a Get-Paid-To site, or GTP site. They pay you to do small task online and are also referred to as rewards sites.
ySense is a global company and they support market researchers from all over the world. They also cater to a worldwide membership platform, so people from different countries are welcome to join their site.
Market research has long been considered an important business.
Businesses succeed or fail based on how well they know their customers (and what their customers want).
A lot of companies go bankrupt because they “think” they know what their customers want, but they get it wrong. If they had done their research they might have learned a thing or two (I’m looking at you Blockbuster, Kodak and BlackBerry).
So consumers have tremendous power, which is why it’s critical for companies to fully understand their needs and desires. One way of getting that information is simply by asking.
What are their customers thoughts and opinions?
Through you (a consumer and participant of ySense), companies have the opportunity to learn what you want. And they’ll pay you for that information.
Is ySense a Scam?
You can barely turn your phone on or your computer these days without getting hit by scam… ducking and weaving like a professional boxer trying to get punched.
So it’s only fair to ask if ySense is a scam. I mean… it’s making money online. Are they not all scams?
Well, not all of them.
ClixSense has been around since 2007, which is quite a long time… especially in the online world and they were known as a PTC site (Paid-To-Click) before being re-branded as ySense in 2019.
They recently removed their PTC services and ySense is now mostly known for their online surveys… although they have other services and features (which I’ll talk more about in the succeeding sections).
ySense is pretty new though, so I wasn’t able to find much of an online social presence yet (they were well known when they were ClixSense).
They do have a Facebook page which was created on September 14, 2019 but at the time of this review, they still only have 11 followers and no ratings. Not a big deal, Facebook might not be where their audience is.
ySense is also part of the Prodege, LLC family of companies though – and they’re a big outfit based in El Segundo, California. Prodege is on LinkedIn with a couple thousand followers and owns other legit brands including Swag Bucks.
With both ClixSense and Prodege being legit, it’s a safe to say ySense is legit as well.
That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the survey company you’ve been looking for (although they might be)… but ySense is definitely not a scam.
Having said that, I did read some reviews from others claiming ySense was a scam (and this is usually because people get disqualified from completing surveys). I’ll talk more about that below (under sub-heading What I Don’t Like About ySense) but this is one reason it’s a good idea when doing surveys to join other sites as well.
Not all surveys will be suitable to your situation but during those times another site might have some good ones available.
Of course, sites like these and ySense won’t make you rich, but they’re an easy way to get started online.
They can also be a stepping stone to something more serious like an online business.
You may be at home because of difficulties with your health for example, or young ones to look after.
If that’s the case and a full-time income online is what you want, knowing how and where to get started is what you need in order to get what you want.
How Does ySense Work?
Answering surveys and getting paid to do tasks online is a simple way of earning a few extra bucks these days. Platforms like ySense allow ordinary people to work from home (if you can call it work) or anywhere else they choose – as long as they have a computer, mobile phone, or tablet as well as an internet connection.
You’ll get cash rewards for the surveys and task you complete on ySense. It’s a pretty simple process but here are the steps to follow when joining and making money on their platform…
Steps to Signing Up and Making Money with ySense
It’s easy to join and use ySense – just follow these steps:
1. Enter your email and chosen password and click on the Join Now button on their official site.
2. Once you’re inside, they’ll ask you to complete your registration by verifying your email.
3. Complete your Profile page (it’s important to be honest and accurate so they can match you with relevant surveys).
4. (Optional) Read the FAQs on their help page and go through the topics on their forum (to familiarize yourself with the platform).
5. Start answering surveys and completing tasks/offers.
6. Earn money (your cash rewards are accumulated in your ySense account).
7. The best part… cash out your money 😉
Ways of Making Money with ySense
Unlike some survey sites, ySense provides several ways of making money…
1. Complete/Answer Surveys
Your survey Profile will contain your location, age, gender, and other information. These will be used in determining which surveys are suitable for you.
You’ll find available surveys on your account dashboard when you log into the site. And you can click on the survey links if you’re interested in them.
Just note that each survey has qualifying questions – and sometimes you’ll get disqualified before finishing the entirety of the survey. In this case, you won’t get paid for it.
This is why it’s important to be honest and accurate with your profile. The better match you are for a particular survey, the less likely you will be disqualified.
Generally speaking, disqualified doesn’t mean you’ve done something wrong (unless you’re just clicking answers randomly or deliberately lying). What it means is that you don’t belong to the demographic of consumers that particular survey requires.
For example, a company selling retirement cruises is not going to pay college students for their opinion.
2. Get-Paid-To Complete Offers
Get-paid-to offers can include testing products and services, watching videos, signing up to sites, downloading apps, and more.
You’ll see the available offers on your account page and you can click on the links to open them (and see the details). You can complete as many offers as you want as long as you qualify for them.
As for the pay, it varies per task. There are no standard rates for surveys – but generally, it can be a few cents to a few dollars.
The rate (or reward) will depend on the company and type of survey. Generic surveys with large audiences usually pay less, while specialized surveys in a relatively small industry pay higher.
For example… a dental equipment supply company conducting research would be looking for dental professionals which is relatively small and specialized field. Those types of surveys will pay well because few people can qualify.
On the other hand, if it’s a generic survey that anyone between the ages of 18 and 80 who lives on this planet and breaths can qualify for, the rate is likely to be very low.
3. Complete Tasks
Referred to as micro tasks, you’ll find these small jobs (and their instructions/details) on your account page. These are things like making searches in Google and categorizing images.
While some tasks can be done repeatedly (and you can therefore also earn repeatedly doing the same task), some tasks can only be done once or twice. You’ll get notifications if you’re no longer allowed to perform certain tasks.
There will also be instances when you’ll be required to go through some form of training before you’re qualified to complete a task. For some of these small jobs, ySense will evaluate and confirm you are qualified first.
Again, it’s hard to say how much you’ll be earning per completed task because it depends on how difficult the job is, how many people are available or skilled to do it, etc. But, you can expect a few cents to a couple of dollars per completed task.
What I like about doing ySense is that they’ll give you a $5 bonus for every $50 worth of completed tasks. You can also earn extra money through their Weekly Contests and Daily Checklist Bonus.
Tasks Weekly Contests
ySense rewards their members weekly through contests – and these run from Monday to Sunday every week. They reward their Top 10 Tasks workers/members in the following manner:
- Top 1 – $50
- Top 2 – $20
- Top 3 – 10
- Top 4 – $5
- Top 5 – $5
- Top 6 – $2
- Top 7 – $2
- Top 8 – $2
- Top 9 – $2
- Top 10 – $2
As you can see, ySense is giving away a total of $100 per week to their contest winners. If you’re one of the Top 10 winners, you’ll get your winnings around midnight of that Sunday.
Daily Checklist Bonus
You can use ySense’s Daily Checklist as your guide in accomplishing goals and tasks on their site. Their bonus can also serve as inspiration in staying active on their site (and therefore make more money).
You can make up to 16% of your daily earnings added to your account when you complete their checklist. It works like this…
- Daily Checklist Bonus – 12%
- ySense Addon Extra Bonus – 2%
- Activity Extra Bonus – 2%
As you can see, it’s possible to get all the bonuses and end up with a total of 16% added earnings.
Please note. your bonuses are calculated on your personal earnings for the day. Your other bonuses including earnings from referrals (another way you can make money with YSense) are not included.
4. The ySense Referral Program
You can also earn from ySense as an affiliate. They will provide you with a unique link and promotional banners so that you can promote their site and share your referral links to other people. These earnings include both signup and activity commissions.
Signup Commissions
You can earn 10 cents to 30 cents per active referral, but this stipulation is for select countries only (also called Top Tier Countries). It also comes with the condition that your referral must be an active member.
ySense considers top tier countries to be those listed here…
When your referrals make their first $5 on the ySense (not including their bonuses and commissions), you’ll also get a $2 bonus.
Activity Commissions
As an affiliate, you’ll also earn 20% of what your referrals make per completed survey, offer, or task. Note that this won’t affect your referrals’ earnings in any way as ySense will be the one to pay you your commissions.
In other words, ySense looks at this as a marketing cost for doing business. The DO NOT deduct it from the money your referrals earn.
And it gets even better when you have 100 active referrals in 30 days because you’ll move into the 25% commission bracket. Then, if you have 200 active referrals (again in 30 days), your commission rate will increase to 30%.
Having active referrals will increase your earnings considerably.
How Much Money Can You Make with ySense?
As mentioned earlier, it’s hard to say how much you can earn with ySense… There are just so many factors to consider like the number of hours you spend on the site, your number of referrals, how many tasks, when those tasks are offered and how many people there are available to perform those tasks, the type offers available, and so on…
Your demographic is also a factor. For example, if ySense is getting a lot of work from clients who sell or manufacture baby related products, there are going to be more surveys for parents than there will for people who don’t have children.
If you promote ySense and earn referral commissions, part of you income will depend on how active they are, and what demographic they belong to.
Of course, the more active you are, the more opportunities you’ll have for earning.
In fact, when it comes to online survey sites, it’s a good idea to join several.
When one doesn’t have any surveys or tasks for you to complete, another one might… and vice-versa. Survey Junkie and Inbox Dollars (which is owned by the same people who own ySense) are a some other great options.
For something more significant, an income that may one day replace your job for example, an online business may be what you’re looking for.
Making money from home might be something you need because of medical issues, children to look after, or maybe you’re just tired of working for a boss.
If that’s the case, knowing how (and where) to get started is what you need in order to get what you want.
